External Collaboration Data Privacy Notice

(Regarding Dow’s use of External Electronic Collaboration environment)

This Notice describes how your personal information is used by Dow Inc. and its subsidiaries and affiliates (collectively, “Dow”) during the use of Dow’s External Electronic Collaboration environment which consists of Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Azure Portal, Powershell and Dow’s B2B portal. What information we collect, how we use it, and why. This Notice applies to the minimal personal information gathered from you during this process.

Dow must keep and process certain information about you to maintain your access to Dow’s External Electronic Collaboration environment. Dow’s collection and use of your personal information is subject to all applicable legal requirements and to Dow’s Privacy Statement.

What Information Dow Collects
Dow collects the below personal data categories from invitee to Dow’s External Electronic Collaboration environment

  • Email address, name (first/last),
  • Multifactor authentication (MFA) authenticator such as phone number or other email
  • Monitoring
    • application used, time/date application used,
    • IP address accessed from
  • Any information the invitee provides once inside the collaboration environment

How Dow Uses Your Information
Dow uses your personal information in the following ways:

  • To provide appropriate security access within the collaboration environment
  • To ensure that our computer facilities, networks and communication systems are secure and to conduct business with you and Dow.

Dow will store the above mentioned personal data in its managed Dow Microsoft Azure Data Center located in the United States. Dow will retain the above mentioned personal Information for no longer than is necessary to achieve the purposes of the processing, a period of time which shall not exceed ninety (90) days after you have revoked your access to the Dow external collaboration environment. Dow will keep any documents, chats or other documentation you store in the Dow environment per the document types and retention times dictated by Dow’s document retention schedules.

The legal justification for Dow to transfer and otherwise process your personal data and information varies by jurisdiction but generally includes your freely given and informed consent and Dow’s legitimate business interest in providing access to external users to Dow’s Electronic Collaboration environment for collaboration purposes.
